So now all the students are going to start a difficult task - writing separate blog posts about each of the songs in Lemonade. Each blog post should be about a different emotion from Lemonade and the narration/song that goes with it. Here's what each blog post should look like:
- Paragraph 1: Explain Beyonce's meaning in each narration/song pair. The way you find her meaning is to analyze what each part of the narration and song means and why Beyonce uses it to show the emotion that the song is connected to. If you use an Internet source, you need to cite it.
- Cite = write down the source/text that has the fact or idea you wrote down. Just say the name of the author who wrote the fact/idea, like "according to (author's name)" and then the fact/idea you're using from the source.
- But you also need to use three (3) of your own examples to prove your claim about why Beyonce uses them.
- Paragraph 2: Explain what this song/narration means to YOU. Use 3 different examples to show how this song means something unique to you
- What does it make you think about?
- What does it remind you of?
- How does it help you understand your own life differently?
- What other topics does it connect to in your life?
- This should be written in a blog post that is 2 paragraphs long. When you think you are finished with your first post, send an email with the link to your blog to [email protected] and 3 other people in class. These four people will give you feedback that you can use to edit and revise your blog post.
