And now comes the writing part. Today students are going to write paragraphs to prove their claim and paragraphs to answer their question. The way it should be organized is based on how many reasons they have. If they have done the research and found 2 reasons to prove their claim, or two answers to their question, then they will have 2 paragraphs - one paragraph for each reason. And each paragraph should start with a topic sentence that combines their claim with a reason, like this:
Claim + because + reason.
Example: Marijuana should be legal because the punishments cause too much harm to marijuana users.
And after that topic sentence, the rest of the paragraph should be analyzing why the evidence from your sources proves that topic sentence.

By the end of class today, everyone should have both their claim paragraphs and their question paragraphs written, in separate google documents, and they should share them with other students who can peer edit them using the peer editing forms.
